Hillary Kiptoo

Hillary (a boy's name in Kenya) grew up homeless with his family. As Hillary's family didn't have any land or a place to stay, they built a temporary structure on a large tea plantation. Hillary's mom and dad picks tea leaves in exchange for the plantation letting the family stay on their land. With very little income, Hillary has no chance of going to high school.

When asked how Hillary wants to make an impact on his community, he says, "(by) advising pupils who come from poor families and orphans to achieve their goal and help them to go ahead (with) their education."

Hillary believes if he has the chance to get an education, that he could make a big impact on his community. He dreams of becoming a broadcaster and is from Eldoret.
